Software: V2.90 - V2.70 - V2.60 - V2.50 - V2.40 - V2.30 - V2.20

The following lists of changes are based on information provided by GARMIN. Changes or improvments which we consider important or especially useful are shown highlighted.

To view the current chipset software version, complete the following steps:

  1. Turn on the GPS.
  2. Switch to the main menu. Press the Mode-button until you get to the main menu page.
  3. Select "Settings" and press the enter key.
  4. Select "System" and press the enter key.
  5. Select "General" and press the enter key.
  6. Select "About Edge" and press the enter key.
  7. The system will display the chipset software version at the third row ("GPS:").
  8. Press the enter key to return to the previous page.

Each upgrade replaces the complete chipset software in the GPS, which means you need to install only the version you wish to apply. There is no need to install any previous versions.

Changes made from version 2.70 to 2.90: (released 11/27/2006)

  1. Improved satellite tracking reliability for multi-hour activities.
