GARMIN NavTalk GSM

Mobile phone with integrated GPS receiver and Organizer (PDA). Gray scale display, supports auto-routing with voice guidance, integrated world and Europe/Africa map plus serial interface. Well suited as a hand held device or to be used in all kinds of vehicles.

The GARMIN NavTalk GSM is great combination of a mobile phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA) and a GPS receiver.

It provides automatic route calculating with visual and voice guidance. The 2 band mobile phone provides all the features you would expect from a mobile phone including short messages (SMS) and a WAP browser. The PDA supports contacts, a calendar with appointments, tasks and notes and allows synchronisation with email and groupware systems such as Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes. In addition, the NavTalk GSM provides an easy to use multi-lingual user interface, has an easy to read gray scale display, an extremely sensitive antenna, an integrated world map (overview) plus a base map of Europe, Africa and the near East. There is 16 MB of built-in memory to store even more detailed information, such as local roads, restaurants and points of interest. The NavTalk GSM provides navigation information outdoors, in a car, in a train or even in an airplane (see MapSource examples).

SMS, current position can be included in message text if the GPS receiver is turned on. If you receive a message from another NavTalk GSM which includes position information, that position can be stored as a waypoint and displayed on the map of your own NavTalk GSM.
Emergency call: Send a message with the current time, the current position and a preset text to a predefined phone number by simply pressing and holding one bottom. The GPS receiver needs to be turned on in order to provide the current position.
