The following lists of changes are based on information provided by GARMIN. Changes or improvments which we consider important or especially useful are shown highlighted.

To view the current firmware version, complete the following steps:

1. Turn on the GPS.
2. Switch to the tool kit page by touching the tool symbol on the buttom row.
3. Touch "Settings".
4. Touch "System".
5. Touch "About"
6. The system will display the firmware version at the top ("Software Version"), the unit ID on the second line, followed by various copyright information.
7. Touch "Back" to return to the previous page.

Each upgrade replaces the complete firmware in the GPS, which means you need to install only the version you wish to apply. There is no need to install any previous versions.

Changes made from version 4.40 to 5.00:

1. Enhanced compatibility with PC applications.

1. Fixed an issue with Extras Points displaying a longer title than they should.
2. Fixed an issue where some Points of Interest categories were not being displayed when they should.

Changes made from version 3.40 to 3.50:

1. Improved overall map drawing speed to display up to twice as often.
2. Fixed an issue where the last entry in a list of Custom POIs could be blank.
3. Fixed an issue where using an SD card with maps overlapping the maps pre-loaded could cause the unit to shut down.
4. Fixed an issue where searching for an intersection across all cities in a country could result in no matches being found.

1. Corrected issue where searching help files could return non-relevant topics.
2. Corrected issue when doing searches with multiple maps loaded.

4. Corrected issue with proximity points in areas with many roads causing the map to draw slower.
5. Improved the appearance of some Spanish punctuation marks.

4. Fixed a bug that could cause the wrong help file to be displayed for the Language setup help.
5. Added support for the following new voices: Afrikaans, Arabic, Cantonese, Catalan, Japanese, Korean, Luxembourgish, Mandarin, Taiwanese and Thai.
