Robust GPS receiver with fast auto-routing and route optimization, voice guidance, color display with touchscreen, integrated world and Europe/Africa map, pre-installed detailed map of Europe plus USB and BlueTooth interface. The GARMIN Zumo 220 provides fast automatic route calculation and route optimization by reordering via-points of routes with multiple intermediate destinations. It has a large, easy to read color display with touchscreen, an extremely sensitive antenna, an integrated world map (overview) plus a base map of Europe, Africa and the near East. It has a multi-lingual user interface and is easy to use via the touchscreen.
The Zumo 220 has
3.66 GB built-in memory to store pre-installed, detailed maps of all of Europe with even more information, such as local roads, restaurants and points of interest. A DVD City Navigator Europe NT plus a free unlock code is also included. There are approx. 1.87 GB of unused memory to store other data such as waypoints and pictures. This model also has a speech computer to announce the names of the roads.
The Zumo 220 is equipped with a BlueTooth interface to communicate with headphones
which have the required communication capabilities. The Zumo 220 also has a slot for an optional microSD memory module to store additional detailed maps or other data and it supports an optional TMC receiver to incorporate traffic news. It provides navigation information outdoors, in a car, in a train or even in an airplane (see MapSource examples).

If the GPS receives a message about a traffic jam, blocked road etc. along the planned route, it can automatically compute a detour. Traffic news messages are broadcasted by many radio stations in various European countries including Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. These messages are broadcasted for free and do not
require any subscriptions. The TMC receiver works independent from the car radio and finds stations with traffic news messages automatically.
- BlueTooth interface to communicate with headphones.
- Picture viewer, displays pictures and provides various options, such as zooming, rotation and autoplay slide show.
- Suited as a hand held device or to be used in any kind of vehicles. Comes with power cable and mounting kit with suction cup for quick mounting and dismounting to easily remove the GPS receiver (seamless switching between cars, theft protection etc.), does not require any installation.
