Firmware: V4.50 - V4.40 - V4.00 - V3.80 - V3.70 - V3.60 - V3.50 - V3.40 - V3.20 - V3.10 - V3.00 - V2.90 - V2.80 - V2.70 - V2.60 - V2.50

The following lists of changes are based on information provided by GARMIN. Changes or improvements which we consider important or especially useful are shown highlighted.

To view the current firmware version, complete the following steps:

  1. Turn on the GPS.
  2. Go to the main menu
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and touch "About".
  4. The software version, the Unit ID plus various copyright information are shown.

Each upgrade replaces the complete firmware in the GPS, which means you need to install only the version you wish to apply. There is no need to install any previous versions.


Changes made from version 4.40 to 4.50:

  1. Fixed issue with getting a false max number of photos exceeded message.
  2. Fixed page flow when clearing the current activity.

  1. Fixed issue where auto-start setting would not work.
  2. Fixed issue where activities would fail to sync to GCM (GARMIN Connect Mobile) after completing.
  3. Fixed issue where touching the screen would wake up the unit when it was in battery save mode.

  1. Fixed intermittent issue where device was not recognized for mass storage when connected via USB.
  2. Fixed ability to set custom name for FIT activities.

Changes made from version 2.60 to 2.70:

  1. Added ability to copy reverse for FIT activities.
  2. Improved naming consistency for Tracks and Activities. Track is now used only in reference to GPX track files. Activity is used to refer to the current activity.
  3. Improved foreign language keyboard layouts.
  4. Improved display of right to left languages.
  5. Improved panning on the altimeter page.
  6. Improved separation of activity data and trip data.
  7. Fixed possible issue that prevented geocache filters from working.
  8. Fixed selected keyboard language to save through power cycle.
  9. Fixed possible issue with Trip Time data field.

Changes made from version 2.50 to 2.60:

  1. Added turn information to map page during navigation.
  2. Added ability to customize auto pause threshold.
  3. Added option to restore the current profile to its default settings in Setup > Reset.
  4. Improved the Reset All Settings option in Setup > Reset. This option now resets all the profiles.

  1. Improved the fit history application to work more like track manager.
  2. Improved main menu font in Classic Mode.
  3. Fixed potential shutdown when starting navigation.
  4. Fixed potential issue where a long list would show blank items after scrolling.

  6. Fixed issue where WAAS setting would not save through a power cycle.
