The following lists of changes are based on information provided by GARMIN. Changes or improvements which we consider important or especially useful are shown highlighted.

To view the current firmware version, complete the following steps:

1. Press the Mode key until you see the satellites page.
2. Press the Enter key.
3. Select "ABOUT FORETREX" and press the Enter key.
4. The current firmware version will be displayed.
5. Press the Enter key to quit the screen.

Each upgrade replaces the complete firmware in the GPS, which means you need to install only the version you wish to apply. There is no need to install any previous versions.

Changes made from version 2.40 to 2.70: (released 05/04/2006)

1. Updated software to support manufacturing.

1. Fixed problem with displaying a message in certain languages. For example, a 'WEAK GPS SIGNALS' message in Dutch would cause the unit to lock up.

Changes made from version 2.10 to 2.20: (released 05/20/2004)

1. Added REPEAT option under WHEN EXPIRED: in Timer setup. If selected, this feature will automatically restart the timer back to its original value upon expiration. This is useful for any interval operation.
2. Fixed problem with MGRS location display being too large for biggest trip computer field.
3. Fixed problem with route transitions not happening at the set distance.
