Firmware: V4.10 - V3.40 - V3.10 - V3.00 - V2.80 - V2.50

The following lists of changes are based on information provided by GARMIN. Changes or improvements which we consider important or especially useful are shown highlighted.

To view the current firmware version, complete the following steps:

  1. Turn on the GPS.
  2. Press the MENU key twice.
  3. "Setup" is now highlighted, press the ENTER key.
  4. "System" is now highlighted, press "up" and "right". "About" should now be highlighted - if not, navigate through the Setup until About is highlighted.
  5. Press the ENTER key.
  6. The system will display the firmware version at the first line ("Software Version") and the unit ID on the second line, followed by various other information.
  7. Press the QUIT key to return to the previous page.

Each upgrade replaces the complete firmware in the GPS, which means you need to install only the version you wish to apply. There is no need to install any previous versions.

Changes made from version 3.40 to 4.10:

  1. Added ability to display FIT Activities on the map.
  2. Improved hiking route calculation performance.
  3. Fixed issue with using Spell Search to find cities in BirdsEye Direct.
  4. Fixed issue with deleting routes.
  5. Fixed issue with erroneous Track Archive Error dialog displaying at startup.
  6. Fixed keypad input preventing Wi-Fi networks from being added.
  7. Fixed issue with trip info fields not resetting.
  8. Fixed issue with displaying invalid positions in some position formats.
  9. Fixed issue with mismatched durations in Trip Computer and Recording Controls when using Expedition Mode.
  10. Fixed issue with not being able to display HuntView maps if a BirdsEye map is visible.
  11. Fixed issues with connecting to Bluetooth bike speed, cadence, and speed + cadence sensors.
  12. Fixed issues with CIQ applications not being able to download content.
  13. Fixed issue with displaying incorrect coordinates on the Satellite page when in satellite demo mode.
  14. Fixed issue with sending XERO locations to another device.
  15. Fixed issue with not properly displaying paired inReach Remote device as connected.

Changes made from version 3.10 to 3.40:

  1. Fixed issue where spot soundings were permanently disabled.

  4. Fixed potential shutdown when "Recording Controls" is in the page sequence.

Changes made from version 3.00 to 3.10:

  1. Added ability to view upcoming turns in active route.
  2. Added support for remotely launching Connect IQ apps.
  3. Added additional Connect IQ cryptography support (KEY_PAIR_ELLIPTIC_CURVE_SECP224R1 and KEY_PAIR_ELLIPTIC_CURVE_SECP256R1).
  4. Added ability to select from multiple found ANT/BLE sensors when searching for one.
  5. Added support for the Swiss grid CH-1903+ position format, see also National Survey LV95.
  6. Fixed issue with custom maps on SD cards.
  7. Fixed issue with calorie data field when using a heart rate monitor.
  8. Fixed issue with coordinate entry in some position formats.
  9. Fixed issue with proximity alerts of points loaded via POI loader.
