These products provide a very detailed street map (City Navigator) rsp. a very detailed topographic map (Topo) of Australia and New Zealand, see examples below. MapSource City Navigator Australia and New Zealand NT is shipped on an µSD memory card, an µSD-to-SD adapter is included (µSD is also written as microSD). Topo Australia and New Zealand is available on DVD and on µSD memory card. The DVD has the advantage, that you can install the map on a computer and then transfer it to a GPS, but the map has to be unlocked for that particular device. The µSD/SD memory card has the advantage that the map is immediately available as soon as you plug in the memory card. In addition, you may use the map on any number of devices, but only on one device at the time, see also product overview. The GPS has to have a SD or µSD slot. You may also use the map on a computer, if the free software BaseCamp is installed and the GPS is connected with the computer using a USB cable, see MapSource versus BaseCamp. If your computer has a slot for SD cards, you may insert the memory card into the computer directly, which provides faster access to the map.

If you install the memory card in a GPS which supports maps or if you transfer the map to such a device, the following features will be added:

• Significant increase of the level of details: If there is a built-in map, then the map of Australia and New Zealand will overlay the built-in map. Outside Australia and New Zealand, the built-in map is still available. Most GPS devices support enabling and disabling maps, so you can easily switch between different maps. If your GPS device supports profiles, then you can bind different maps to different profiles.
• Extended search functions: Find points of interest, such as restaurants, hotels, attractions, entertainment, shopping, services, transportation, plus emergency and government addresses etc.
• Autorouting on the GPS: The map of this product supports the autorouting feature of the GPS models which are capable of computing routes.
