The GARMIN GPSMAP278 is easy to use, supports multiple languages, has a large, brilliant, easy to read color display, an extremely sensitive antenna, an integrated world map (overview), a built-in basemap of Europe, Africa and the near East plus pre-installed, detailed maps of all of Europe. There is a slot for an optional memory module to store more maps including Blue-Chart maps for marine navigation. It provides special features for marine use, such as off course, anchor drag or shallow water alarms.
