GARMIN Zumo 220 Firmware Upgrades

The following lists of changes are based on information provided by GARMIN. Changes or improvments which we consider important or especially useful are shown highlighted.

To view the current firmware version, complete the following steps:

Turn on the GPS.
Switch to the tools page by touching the tool symbol ("Tools") near the bottom right corner of the main menu.
Touch "Settings".
Touch "System".
Touch "About"
The system will display the firmware version on the second line ("Software Version"), the unit ID on the third line, followed by various copyright information.
Touch "Back" to return to the previous page.

Each upgrade replaces the complete firmware in the GPS, which means you need to install only the version you wish to apply. There is no need to install any previous versions.

Changes made from version 2.00 to 2.20:

Corrected an issue with File Handling.

The GARMIN Zumo 220 provides very fast automatic route calculation and route optimization by reordering via-points of routes with multiple intermediate destinations. It has a large, easy to read color display with touchscreen, an extremely sensitive antenna, an integrated world map (overview) plus a base map of Europe, Africa and the near East. It has a multi-lingual user interface and is easy to use via the touchscreen.
The Zumo 220 has 3.66 GB built-in memory to store pre-installed, detailed maps of all of Europe with even more information, such as local roads, restaurants and points of interest. A DVD City Navigator Europe NT plus a free unlock code is also included. There are approx. 1.87 GB of unused memory to store other data such as waypoints and pictures. This model also has a speech computer to announce the names of the roads.
The Zumo 220 is equipped with a BlueTooth interface to communicate with headphones which have the required communication capabilities. The Zumo 220 also has a slot for an optional microSD memory module to store additional detailed maps or other data and it supports an optional TMC receiver to incorporate traffic news, see detailed description.
